Refund and Cancellation Policy
A listing removed for breaking the content rules is refunded in full, automatically. A payment taken twice, or charged for a listing that never appeared through our fault, comes back. Being passed by a higher payment is not a reason for a refund.

1. The short version
- A listing refused by the automated checks before payment is never charged.
- If a moderator removes a listing for breaking the content rules, every payment for it is refunded in full, automatically.
- If a payment was taken twice, or you were charged and the listing never appeared because of our fault, you get it back.
- Otherwise a payment is not refundable once the listing is shown. Being passed by someone who paid more is how the ranking works.
2. Listings removed for breaking the rules
A moderator can remove a listing that breaks the Content Rules and Acceptable Use, for example after visitors report it. When that happens, every payment made for that listing, by anyone, is refunded in full to the original payment method. You do not need to ask. If you gave an email address, we send a removal notice with the refund amount.
3. When there is no refund
StartupThrone is a paid advertising ranking, and a payment buys a place on the board for as long as the listing stays there. Once the listing is shown, the payment is not refundable, including when:
- another startup pays more and passes your listing;
- someone raises a listing you did not want raised;
- the listing leaves the board 30 days after its last payment, or its total starts again after expiry;
- a moderator does not approve the website link. The link and logo stay hidden, but the paid name, pitch and place remain;
- the listing did not bring the visits, customers or sales you hoped for.
There is nothing to cancel after payment: a listing has no subscription and never renews by itself.
4. When we got it wrong
- Payment taken twice: the duplicate payment is refunded.
- Charged, but the listing never appeared because of our fault: the payment is refunded.
- Other complaints: write to us through Help. If our finance team upholds your complaint, the payment can be refunded, and the refunded amount is then taken off the listing's total, which can move it down the board.
5. How long refunds take
Refunds go back to the original payment method through Cashfree Payments, our payment provider. Your bank or payment app usually shows the money within 5 to 7 working days, depending on the method.
6. Payment disputes
Please contact us through Help before disputing a payment with your bank; we can usually sort it out faster. If you are not satisfied with our answer, the Grievance Officer reviews it.
